I Was Born Fighting For My Life
Nearly died at childbirth with feces in my lungs. Separated from mother at birth for the first 4 hours.
Because of poor breathing, I nearly died in my sleep each night fighting to breath.
Learned to breath on my own and could sleep safely. Played a lot smile
Went on to have debilitating allergies and struggled to live with any sense of peace or ease. Something was usually making me sick.
I still seemed to have a pretty good time selling lemonade to construction workers and building forts under my deck.
Pulled From The “Real World” Just To Survive
Pulled from 1st grade to be homeschooled to be at home with my mom. I loved it.
Asked for my first guitar at the age of 8. Some people told me it might make my fingers bleed so I didn’t ever try.
Got my first pair of home-sewn bugs bunny shorts.
I got my first pair of transition lenses that turned dark in the sun. I thought I was so cool.
Spent 5 years playing and learning at home with my mom.
Back To The “Real World”
Went back to public school at 7th grade, heart wide open. Got slaughtered by mean kids. That means girls movie, is real, for boys too. smile
Bullied by kids, made fun of by teachers, went into hiding for most of school. Got good at things that didn’t involve human beings.
Picked up computers and hacking as a way to avoid feeling alone and empty. They did a pretty good job at helping me avoid the feelings. But didn’t resolve them.
Off To College
Graduated high school with great skills at many video games. Proudly led leaderboards and clans in many of these games. However I never got the chance to date the dream girl I wanted in high school.
Started college at Iowa State University, and joined a Fraternity. Again, found myself getting rejected by the girls I really wanted. Couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. I saw the guys who got the girls had great hair and cool outfits so I started styling my hair and getting pimp clothes at Goodwill. Haha smile
Music Enters My Life
- My First Guitar
Finally learned to play the guitar around the age of 21. It took me 6 months of practice to play the entire album from Jack Johnson’s On and On album. Thank you Jack!
Trained for my first open mic night to play. During training I got a cold and kept singing, but I hurt my voice badly and sought doctors and medical attention for my voice.
After months of trying to save my voice, I gave up and went into web design. Owwie!
Uploaded my first music video, then went into business
Giving Up On Music For 10 Years
I decided to do things that society deemed valuable. To prove my value to others. Like being rich. I failed at starting many companies… so I started reading. Then I made my first $1.50 in a day using Google Adsense.
Got my hands on books by Perry Marshall, Dan Kennedy, and other great marketers and started building businesses based on their advice. It was a gold mine.
Made my first few successful companies, and started earning a great passive income.
Started a company with my best bud Andy Drish, called The Foundation. We made a lot of money but didn’t keep as much as we wanted. We spent a lot on expensive masterminds and a team. Why? For me it was a passion project to help people start companies and become financially free.
Gave a talk on alignment, and talked about my passion for music
Business started to become a prison when I found I wanted to love everyone deeply and not worry about making a profit. The call for me to love the world became so strong I left the world of money for the world of music. My heart felt home. Music was a way for me to share the depth of my mind with the beauty of my heart.
Retired from traditional entrepreneurship to re-awaken the fullness of my heart. Music requires all of me and I wanted to lose myself in music and be fully used up.
The Return To Music
Jan 1st of 2016 I walked away from my businesses and started pursuing music. I attended the music school of Berklee in Boston for a summer. Released my first album.
Released my first official album called “The Vow: What Were You Born To Do?” which guides people in 10 songs to finding their purpose and living it fully. Loving the world has officially begun!
